AASU President-Elect Credits Governor Otti's Achievements for Election Victory








The newly elected President of the All Africa Students Union (AASU), Comrade Osisiogu Osikenyi, has attributed his election victory to the achievements of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.

In a visit to Governor Otti's office, Comrade Enyinnaya stated that he leveraged on the governor's commitments and investments in education during his campaign, highlighting the governor's initiatives such as providing accommodation for 20,000 students, developing Abia State University, and investing in cyber security and artificial intelligence courses at Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic.

Comrade Enyinnaya, the first Nigerian to hold the AASU presidency since its establishment in the 1970s, expressed his gratitude for Governor Otti's developmental contributions and pledged to advocate for increased investment in education across Africa.

Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration's commitment to education, stating that it is the fulcrum for societal development and announcing that 20% of the state's budget has been dedicated to education in the last two years.

The governor also highlighted his government's interventions in improving education infrastructure, including the renovation of hostel facilities at Abia State University, Uturu.

Comrade Enyinnaya's visit was received with top government officials, including Honourable Commissioners and Special Advisers, who pledged their support for his tenure as AASU President.
