I joined millions of Nigerians at home and abroad to extend warmest birthday wishes to His Excellency, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, on his 79th birthday. This milestone marks not just a celebration of his life, but a recognition of his profound impact on Nigeria's journey.

From his early days in the Nigerian Customs Service to his instrumental role in shaping democratic coalitions in the 80s and 90s, he laid the groundwork for our Fourth Republic. The structures and institutions we rely on today are a testament to his tireless efforts and visionary leadership.

As Vice-President, he spearheaded reforms that opened Nigeria's doors to the world, empowering millions. His commitment to democratic values, even in adversity, is a shining example. He remains engaged, advocating reform and defending Nigeria's potential.

We celebrate his legacy of service and pray for his continued good health, wisdom, and guidance as he contributes to Nigeria's progress.
